All black and white, with wooden floors, closely packed tables and formally clad waiters, it's easy to see why this Spanish outpost in posh Mayfair is such a success. The food is good, honest stuff, running from tapas favourites like mushrooms in garlic, chicken croquettes, meatballs and roast potatoes in onion, garlic and parsley to more robust dishes like pan-fried chicken in garlic, parsley and olive oil, Spanish sausage in a red wine sauce or kidneys in sherry wine. The service is cheerful, brisk and very efficient; the bar is always full of people waiting to be served or just enjoying a drink, and it's a place where chefs from nearby restaurants unwind at the end of the evening.
