Andrew Edmunds Description:
Andrew Edmunds is a dealer of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century prints and drawings; he is also obviously something of a bon viveur as his charming, intimate and romantic, bistro-style restaurant in an old house in Soho shows. The eponymous establishment has the winning formula of a good, inexpensive wine list crammed with specials; a short daily-changing handwritten bistro-style menu; and paper tablecloths and napkins. Be sure to book, if possible on the ground floor, not downstairs, or you won't get in. The menu isn't groundbreaking, but it is reliable: starters might be English asparagus in season or chilled watermelon and lime soup; mains run from best end of lamb with sweet potato mash to wild halibut, or free-range chicken. Desserts are tarts and ices and there is a good cheese board. Service is efficient and friendly.
