J J's Broiler Description:
JJ's has a lovely oceanfront setting, but the food doesn't match the surroundings. Indeed, the stunning view of Kalapaki Bay only amplifies the mediocrity of the food. JJ's bills itself as Kauai's original steakhouse, but while it may have been the first, it is certainly not the best. The preparation of the steak and fresh fish is inconsistent, and too often overcooked. The seafood chowder and salad that accompany the meal are lackluster, and the pasta dishes are filling, but forgettable. We can recommend the thick spicy Cajun fries, and the ocean view. You might want to grab one of the tables set aside to catch the salty trade winds and order drinks and pupu rather than a full meal.
