Purple Cafe & Wine Bar Description:
Casual yet sophisticated with heavy wrought iron chairs, a dark wood interior and cement floors (yes, all those hard surfaces amplify the noise), this is where the sophisticated crowd comes to explore an extensive list of Northwest wines. Flights, glasses or bottles of wine are available, and servers will answer questions and help pick the right pairings. There's a creative selection of small and large plates as well as soups, sandwiches and salads, which can include mixed greens with apples, candied walnuts and Stilton accented with a Champagne vinaigrette. Pastas range from lobster mac 'n' cheese to smoked salmon ravioli with shaved red onion, capers and lemon cream. Our favorite personal pizzas include Italian sausage and goat cheese or the Gorgonzola and pear with caramelized onions, walnuts and fresh rosemary. Come late afternoon, enjoy a delightful wine and cheese pairing, or after the movies, stop by for a "sweet bite" such as goat cheese pot de crème or pumpkin crème brûlée.
