Surrounded by art galleries and fancy boutiques, this Cactus outpost is tucked away on a leafy downtown street. The interior is festive, beautifully tiled, and festooned with bright, funky folk art making a fitting backdrop for a colorful and inventive menu. The kitchen specializes in putting unusual twists on Mexican and Latin American standards. It's easy to make a satisfying meal here by sharing a number of small plates. Try bacon-wrapped, goat cheese-filled jalapeños, coconut prawns, or blue corn calamari. In the entrée department, we recommend the chile relleno, butternut squash enchilada, or pork steak adobo, served with coconut rice and achiote-black bean mash. Don't leave without tasting the Navajo fry bread and the Cuban flan. For dessert, choose bananas dulce, the house version of bananas Foster, which is served with coconut ice cream. Warm summer nights are perfect for sitting on the sidewalk patio and sipping one of Cactus' handmade margaritas.
