If you're hungry for barbecue---the slowly-smoked meats that aren't often seen on Kauai---make tracks for Scotty's. A top-floor location with a sweeping ocean view is matched only by the tender, flavorful barbecue that sat in the smoker for hours before it landed on your plate. The St. Louis-style meats are served with three zippy sauces on the side, a moist cornbread and your choice of two side dishes, one of which should definitely be the crispy, tangy coleslaw. Service may be a bit uneven, but the food atones for those sins. Portions are generous, and a wide selection of beer complements the barbecue. You'd best be hungry if you order dessert, because the s'mores are a mini-meal in themselves.
