Run by the Massolino family since 1875, the Trattoria della Posta moved in the year 2000 from a mid-town location to a rural spot about 3 Km out of Monforte d'Alba on the road to Roddino. They serve rich Piedmontese cuisine and local wines - Barolo in particular. Dishes made with white truffles, when in season, are particularly popular, but traditional Piedmont dishes such as Agnolotti del Plin, Tajarin, Stinco di Vitello al Barolo and Carne cruda all'Albese are always available. The smoked bread, not to be missed, is home-baked each day and left in a wood-burning oven.
There's no need to make difficult choices - you can try the sampling menu (menu degustazione) which includes three antipasti, a primo, a secondo and a dessert.
