Quince At the Homestead Description:
The prevailing belief at this Evanston establishment---located in the former Trio space---is that food can be fine, even fabulous, without costing an arm and a leg. Executive chef Andy Motto (ex-Old Town Brasserie) delivers on that in an elegant-but-approachable golden dining room. The overall look is tranquil but rustic with a marble fireplace; the food is a sight to behold. Should it be available (the menu changes regularly), we recommend the artichoke and quail salad with oven-roasted tomatoes, lamb ravioli and duo of sturgeon and seared scallops with melted leeks, clams and potato espuma. At meal's end, the profiteroles are worth indulging in. As for the wine, get ready to be wowed. The cost-conscious, worldly selection is loaded with good finds.
