Romano's Macaroni Grill Description:
Houstonians can be awfully picky about Italian food---after all, there are dozens of Italian restaurants in town, many are excellent. Count Macaroni Grill as perfect for a quick meal in a fun place. First, there's the "honor-system" wine. Your waiter brings a bottle of jug wine to the table and you're asked to mark off your glasses with a crayon on the butcher paper tablecloth. There's the respectable calamari with sharp red sauce, the well-torn salads drizzled with biting vinaigrette, and many tasty entrées. Simple fare done well includes the salmon sautéed in lemon butter with capers, tomatoes and basil; and steamed mussels in a delicate saffron sauce. If you're in a hurry and don't want to order multiple courses, have pizza and beer. Whatever you order, you get crayons for coloring on the butcher paper.
