MAI'S IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED Since the 1970s, high school kids, concert-goers, barflies and others have had Mai's as an alternative to pie houses and taquerias when it came to after-hours dining. Mai's stayed open late to serve spring rolls packed with noodles and sprouts, served with a dollop of plum sauce, and glorious bowls of steaming pho accompanied by five-inch-tall stacks of basil and cilantro. Bountiful vermicelli bowls topped with veggies, cilantro and skewer-grilled meat are dependable meals, and if you want an alternative to Vietnamese comfort food, chicken and seafood dishes are also on the menu.
