Chapultepec Mexican Restaurant Description:
The best thing about this Tex-Mex eatery is that it's open 24 hours, making it an attractive spot to "soak up" the seedy ambience after a night of partying. The main dining areas of the converted house in the Montrose area (near downtown) are somewhat appealing. Awash in bright colors, they're also bedecked in Mexican curios and booth seating. A shabby yet funky indoor patio, decorated with plastic lawn furniture, has almost a solarium feel to it on sunny days. Chapultepec serves very basic Tex-Mex food, most of it heavy on cheese. Expect to find tacos al carbon and a complimentary bowl of homey vegetable soup---brought to everyone who sits down. The spicy salsa and menudo may be just the thing for a hangover.
