Kakaako Kitchen is the brain child of talented chef Russell Siu from 3660 On the Rise. It has moved out of a warehouse into this more convenient shopping center location without sacrificing quality. Here you can find Hawaii Regional specialties at reasonable prices in a casual, get-your-own drinks and napkins atmosphere. For breakfast, we’re crazy about the fried rice with egg for $5.80. You can enjoy grilled ahi with soy-wasabi butter for less than $10 or five-spice shoyu chicken for $7.50. Everything’s fresh, everything’s cheap and everything’s good. Of course, if you don’t fall prey to the chocolate fudge brownie or the guava bars, you’ll still have to add $1.50-$2.50 for the wondrously light bread pudding with vanilla sauce. There is no better quick meal in Honolulu, and no better bargain.
