Hard Rock Cafe Description:
This particular Hard Rock is quite handsome. Housed in a large white rotunda-shaped building, in the colonial Hawaiian mode, the high-ceilinged room is airy, with every available inch of wall space hung with rock ’n’ roll and surfing memorabilia. People line up near the entrance to buy all manner of Hard Rock T-shirts and sweatshirts, pins, caps and other goodies. Even if you simply must have a memento, you can skip the line. Just order what you want from your server, who will bring it to you. The Hard Rock is not all T-shirts. The food here is far better than it has to be. It makes a great burger, and a good lime-grilled chicken served with crispy, skinny fries. The fresh fish is fine. Miraculously, the apple pie actually tastes as though a real human being baked it; and other desserts, such as the devil’s food cake, the hot fudge sundae and the fudge brownie are gooey, messy, American-dream desserts. The Hard Rock may be preprogrammed fun, but it is fun---and with decent food to boot.
