Café 100 Description:
Café 100 is a famous survivor of the great tidal wave (tsunami)that destroyed the old downtown area of Hilo in 1960. It is an inexpensive diner serving regional variations of breakfast and lunch. Da Place for Loco Mocos.
This friendly family operation is where local residents go for a quick, good meal at a low price. Favorites are the locomocos, served dozens of different ways but always with meat (beef patties, Portuguese sausages, Spam), fried eggs, rice, gravy and kimchi. We love the menu hotline (808-935-6368) that gives us the daily specials, like pot roast and miso-grilled mahi. You may have to stretch to spend more than $10 for any meal here.
