Seafood Bar Description:
Perched above an art gallery, with less than stunning views of silos in Kawaihae's industrial harbor yard, this casual place draws a local happy-hour crowd of resort commuters eager to keep the coconut wire up-to-date over margaritas and appetizers. Open daily until well after midnight---a rarity on the Big Island---the elongated bar does get noisy after certain hours. Come early and enjoy the wonderful décor, South Seas 1950s-style and lauhala mats. We are convinced that the best way to go about the tantalizing menu is to order a flurry of pupus, then share. Read the blackboard specials before you decide. Try the mini-pizzas, the stuffed mushrooms, and fried coconut shrimp in li hing mui-piña colada sauce, if available.
