Mackinaws Grill & Spirits Description:
The setting is sleekly Northwoods with six large stone fireplaces, massive pine log walls, vaulted beamed ceilings and mounts of wildlife from the owner's collection. Even the name factors into the equation: it's a type of Canadian cloth used in outdoor wear worn by lumberjacks, woodsmen and hunters. The emphasis here is on fun with live entertainment as well as nightly specials in the Cabin Bar, a real log cabin surrounded by the dining area. With 11 TVs, it's a good place to watch a sporting event. The menu offers up plenty of Wisconsin favorites, including cheese curds served over a bed of fries (don't even think about the calories) as well as Mexican fare like nachos and quesadillas. Of course, you'll find all-American burgers, ribs and steaks as well. Mackinaws also is known for its perch dinners and daily specials.
