Mimis Cafe Description:
Mimi's is one of those rare chains that manages to serve fresh, appealing food in a family-friendly atmosphere. Comfort is the name of the game---the menu runs the gamut with burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, pastas and seafood, and some dishes are real standouts. The zucchini Parmesan is one of the best we've had---wedges of tender zucchini fried golden brown, dusted with Parmesan and romano cheeses, and served with ranch dressing and marinara sauce for dipping. (If you want to feel a little less guilty, fried appetizers are made using cholesterol-free cooking oil and zero grams trans fat.) Hot from the oven, the freshly-made signature chicken potpie features moist chicken breast, tender vegetables, and a light cream sauce baked in a flaky crust that could stand up to mom's. For dessert, try the bread pudding made with French bread, plump raisins and vanilla, served with buttery whiskey sauce and cool whipped cream.
