Community BBQ Description:
Two guys with pretty nifty chef's credentials (David Roberts and Stuart Baesel) devoted to barbecue can make a difference. Roberts worked for Guenter Seeger both at The Ritz-Carlton and at Seeger's, while Baesel worked at Seeger's. Not only are the ribs properly slow-smoked, the chicken rates as well. Mac 'n' cheese is made with large tube pasta and comes quite cheesy with a lovely top crust. Slaw is fresh tasting and delightfully crunchy, as if all the vegetables were chopped by hand; we also suggest the collard greens. Dessert might be a strawberry shortcake with lemon buttermilk pound cake and whipped cream. The team sources much of its raw material from local purveyors, making a real difference. Even the lemonade is freshly squeezed.
