Oustau de Baumanière Description:
Set in a beautiful garden full of white roses, this former barn is the domain of chefs Jean-André Charial and Sylvestre Wahid. The cuisine includes such classics as ravioli with truffle and leeks, lamb en croûte, and Baumanière crepes with Grand Marnier.
This uniquely charming spot, in what may be the most beautiful village in France, embodies the very essence of Provence. First sight of the amazing Valley of Hell and its chaotic array of boulders over which hangs the village of Baux leaves one utterly spellbound. In the middle of it all is an oasis of peace, verdure and bliss, the enchanting fifteenth-century mas with its rosemary-scented terrace girdled with cypresses and Judas trees, with its dream of a pool: L'Oustau de Baumanière. Now for gustatory matters. Legendary cellar, where you'll find owner Jean-André Charial's delicious Château Romanin, a wealth of fine Côtes-du-Rhônes, and a cache of vintage Bordeaux collected by Baumanière's founder, Raymond Thuilier.
