Le Coquillage Description:
The fare at Olivier Roellinger's simple "seaside bistro" (located in a château, no less!) takes its cue from offerings at his four-toque restaurant in Bricourt. The ingredients are the same, the prices are gentle, and the atmosphere is charming: waiters in sailor shirts attend to your every need, and the tables are set with smooth beach pebbles as knife rests. Take your pick from the marvelous dishes on the menu as you admire the bay's vast horizons through the dining room's picture windows. Roellinger cooks most of the fare over an open fire, and serves up desserts like grandma used to make. The tourist traps along Cancale's port can't hold a candle to the set-price menus on offer.
