La Ruelle Description:
This fine old house (notice the great timbers imposing the fireplace, rough-hewn stone walls) is Angoulême's top restaurant. Try dishes like crab croustillant cannelloni with vegetables and apples, red tuna escalope pan-fried with anise, and free-range suprême de pintade with crème de morel mushrooms. The solid, balanced cellar holds many moderately-priced bottles.
