Bistro Louise Description:
Steps away from one of Fort Worth's busiest thoroughfares, the auberge-style Bistro Louise, with its cheery patio, is a delightful surprise. Muted yellow walls display stoneware, china platters, oil paintings and watercolors, as well as autographed menus from the noted European kitchens where chef Louise Lamensdorf trained. This training shows in everything from the house salad, a refreshing mix of butter and romaine lettuces laced with seedless red grapes, to desserts such as the Parker County peach, plum and nectarine pie topped with sugar and almonds. As for in-betweens: in season, select the soft-shell crab. The plump crustacean, browned to honey color in tempura embedded with thinly sliced almonds, is served on a sweet slaw topped with fresh orange sections.
