Peacock Tandoori Restaurant Description:
When a couple from Punjab opened The Peacock in 1982 in an obscure Dearborn neighborhood, no one would have guessed that it would be around to celebrate so many anniversaries. But once you've visited, it's easy to see why it has lasted. As so many Indian restaurants do, it offers a buffet lunch, and it's a best bet given the array of dishes on offer (tandoori chicken to vegetable curry, toasty naan, condiments galore---not to mention dessert). Dinners come with vegetable, rice and made-to-order bread. Choice appetizers are the samosas filled with vegetables or ground lamb, dal and chicken mulligatawny soup, while entrées range from lamb masala to perch in curry sauce. Diners can substitute chicken for lamb in most dishes, but beef and pork are not served. Indian and British beers star on the international list.
