Mekong River Description:
Situated in a cozy corner spot in the more residential end of Cleveland Heights, this restaurant is small---about 20 tables---and decorated simply, with white stucco walls accented by dark wood and Asian art. The menu is based on traditional flavors and humble Cambodian and Thai cooking techniques. Start with brohet: minced fish, ground lemon grass, lime leaves, garlic, galanga and green beans, served with sweet chili and ground peanut sauce. Next, try the Cambodian crêpe, a rice flour wrap filled with bean sprouts, chopped chicken and onions. Other noodle, fried rice and curry dishes offer a wide enough representation without being too limited, and several vegetarian items are surprisingly satisfying. For dessert, we suggest the sweet sticky rice with mango.
