Barrington's keeps its shine year after year and continues to please patrons who pack all 40 seats in chef-owner Bruce Moffett's place. Sample the season's best in Carolina snapper in a coconut curry sauce or a roasted pork chop with market vegetables and potato cakes. Moffett shows his regional touches frequently with sophisticated elements, as in the cornmeal-fried oysters with black-eyed pea salad and red pepper aïoli. Pasta dishes are tempting, especially the handmade gnocchi with organic veal and porcini mushrooms. The wine entices with solid offerings at extremely reasonable prices, often not a nickel above retail. Use the extra change or unspent calorie capacity on such desserts as the chocolate pudding cake or chai crème brûlée.
