Enjoy these fresh brews made on site, which range from pale ales and light lagers to a particularly good stout at this downtown pub. While the brews are decent, most strike us as lacking a mid-palate and depth of flavor, except for the aforementioned stout, which is big and bold. Southern Flyer might be for lighter palates, as it lies a bit more gently on the tongue. The Sweet Magnolia, Rock Bottom's nutty brown ale, is put to excellent use in the house-made barbecue sauce applied to chicken and ribs. Don't miss the Kobe sliders, among the best choices on the menu, which includes nachos and wings, burgers and sandwiches. Ask about any seasonal offerings, such as an Oktoberfest smoked pork loin with Jack Daniel's apple raisin sauce, mashed redskin potatoes and fresh steamed vegetables. Dessert-lovers will want to check out the chocolate peanut butter pie with chocolate sauce and chopped peanuts on an Oreo cookie base---it pairs nicely with the stout---or the carrot cake.
