Barrett Lake Description:

Parking:

Parking is very limited, therefore, no more than two (2) vehicles per reservation. No motorhomes allowed due to the limited parking, road conditions, and low overhead.

General Rules:

This is a catch and release fishery for all species,
requiring use of artificial lures with barbless hooks only. NO BAIT OF ANY KIND.

Each person 16 or older is required to have a valid California fishing license in his or her possession at all times. Licenses are NOT sold at the lake and must be purchased in advanced. License must be worn and visible at anglers waist or above at all times.

The California Department of Fish and Game will strictly enforce rules and regulations.

No pets are allowed.

No PRIVATE motorized boats are allowed. Float tubes, kayaks, and canoes are permitted but a reservation is still required. - No pets!

Each person must have a valid daily use permit ($10.00 per person regardless of age) in their possession while at Barrett Lake to avoid being cited for trespass. Permits are purchased at the Lake on the day of your Reservation. Any angler picking up a non-permit holder from shore may be ejected from the Lake.

TO ALLOW AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE THE OPPORTUNITY TO FISH BARRETT, THERE IS A LIMIT OF ONE RESERVATION PER HOUSEHOLD PER CALL ON THE FIRST DAY OF SALE EACH MONTH. ON THE SECOND DAY OR LATER, IF THERE ARE STILL OPENINGS, PATRONS MAY PURCHASE ADDITIONAL RESERVATIONS.

Miscellaneous:

Reservations go onsale the second Tuesday of the month at 7pm. Reservations will remain onsale the rest of the month or until they are sold out.

Reservation holder and his/her entire party must enter the lake at the same time and be escorted to the lake. Entry times are 5:00am, 7:00am, and 8:00am except in September when it's 5:30am, 7:00am and 8:00am. NO ENTRANCE AFTER 8:00AM! No stopping between the gate and the parking area.

RESERVATION HOLDER MUST SHOW PHOTO ID. IF YOU USED SOMEONE ELSE'S CREDIT
CARD TO PLACE ORDER, YOU MUST CALL 619-668-2050 TO LET THE LAKE KNOW THE NAME OF THE PERSON ACTUALLY GOING, THE DATE, AND THE CITY THEY ARE FROM.


THERE IS NO CONCESSION AT THE LAKE. YOU MUST BRING ANY LURES, FOOD, DRINKS, WATER ETC. WITH YOU. THERE IS NO DRINKING WATER AVAILABLE AT THE LAKE.



Driving direction to Barrett Lake:
BARRETT LAKE
The gate is located approximately 1.7 miles east of Honey Springs Road on Lyons Valley Rd, just west of milepost #12. The road from Barret Junction/Highway 94 is closed!

From Interstate 8 take Japatul Rd. 5.6 miles south to Lyons Valley Rd. After turning on Lyons Valley Rd., watch for descending numbers on green milepost markers. The gate is located just past milepost #12 (6.0 miles) from this direction. Or from Highway 94 turn north on Honey Springs Rd., 7.7 miles to Lyons Valley Rd. Turn right on Lyons Valley Rd. 1.7 miles to gate.
