Monsoon Café Description:
This is Bali on the Third Street Promenade. Monsoon is an over-the-top homage to the exotically tropical, with Balinese masks on the bamboo walls, semiprivate booths and lots of beach shack bar action. The extensive Pan-Asian menu ranges from chicken pot stickers, Vietnamese spring rolls and Indian samosas for starters (plus sushi and sashimi and items like "won ton tuna decker"), while entrées include Burmese beef curry, teriyaki salmon and kung pao chicken. The blues and (sometimes) salsa music continues upstairs in the lounge until 1 a.m. on weekends. Salsa lessons are offered with a live band on Wednesday and Saturday.
