Habit Description:
The hamburger fairytale of a local teen whose first job led to a Santa Barbara tradition, the Habit is one of the city's finest originals. Smoke from the charbroiler beckons the lunch crowd---and a crowd is just what you'll find most days. High school kids swarm the small restaurant, lining up to order at the counter alongside blue collar workers and the suit-and-tie set. Though burgers are the Habit's claim to fame, healthier alternatives such as fish sandwiches---made with hand-cut and filleted tuna steaks---and crisp salads are available. The simple menu sticks to a time-honored formula that regulars have come to know and love over the past 25 years. Three locations in Santa Barbara, one in Goleta.
