Mamma's Brick Oven Pizza Description:
Just north of downtown South Pas, unapologetically housed in a former KFC outlet, is this joyful celebration of old-fashioned, no-nonsense New York-style Italian fare. Amid a few images of the Big Apple, locals huddle at the handful of tables topped with vinyl red-and-white checkered cloths, consuming very good pizza fresh from a brick oven. A meal here might begin with fried calamari or "toasted" cheese ravioli, another deep-fried delight with marinara sauce for dipping. Pastas, including dependable renditions of fettuccine Alfredo and classic lasagna, arrive with salad and addictive garlic rolls. There are also calzones, sandwiches and pizza rolls, including one stuffed with the makings of a pretty decent Philly cheesesteak.
