When in Victoria and you're looking for a real diner experience with an awesome breakfast, head over to John's Place. This is the place that serves up excellent coffee and the waitresses are old school charmers. They've got pretty much any kind of breakfast you'd like to order but if you really want a treat, try their eggs benny - the hollandaise sauce is the best I've ever had. On the weekends, the lineups to get in can be pretty daunting with waits up to 30 minutes, but occasionally the staff feel for you and bring out coffee to those waiting, which is a really nice added touch. The atmosphere is that of a busy diner with loud talking, waitresses yelling out for orders and dishes clanking. But this is the place to be especially if you're nursing one of those Sunday morning hangovers!
