La Galleria 33 Description:
Part of the pack of North Enders that emphasizes the haute over the hearty, this ristorante nonetheless shows hospitality in spades. Sure, the exposed brick walls, wood floors and open kitchen look coolly modern, but the hosts and servers exhibit old-fashioned warmth. And sure, the menu reins in the red sauce to focus on grilled and roasted meats and seafood, but simplicity remains paramount. Indeed, some dishes may be a little too simple---stuffed mushrooms that contain nothing but bread crumbs, for instance. But pork loin with roast potatoes, all done to a turn, is a down-to-earth delight---just like the staff.
