The hearty flavors of Central and South America shine at this adorable café on the edge of the South End. More upscale than many of its local counterparts, it offers some rather complex dishes with nonetheless simple prices. The Peruvian chef blends his homeland's cookery with Brazilian, Mexican and Spanish cuisines. Classics like chicharrones and tostones start a meal with a bang, but pace yourself---entrées are as hearty as they come. We love the beefed-up (literally) stuff like egg-and-olive-studded meatballs, as well as the rich beer-and-tomato braised lamb. There's even a small wine list to choose from if beer isn't your style.
