Reef Description:
Located downtown in the Old Boise Historic District, Reef sits on the second floor of the Sixth and Main Building and offers authentic island fare and ambience. Decorated with faux palm-thatching and rattan, the sounds of Jimmy Buffet and Jack Johnson keep the mood light and airy---even in winter. The real draw, however, is the roof-top patio known as the Tiki Lounge. From spring through fall, it's a challenge to find a seat. With tiki torches, first-rate cocktails, heaters when the chill is too chilly, and the wide open sky, you'd be hard pressed to find better outdoor dining in Boise. On the edible side, the menu offers rich deep-sea crab cakes and spicy jalapeño-pineapple barbecue-glazed pork ribs as pupus. Entrées range from a basic burger to an enticing halibut steak in a lemon beurre marron sauce over four-cheese ravioli, sweet chili coconut prawns and green curry, and a dynamite Jamaican jerk chicken. Reef also offers a good mix of salads and desserts such as Key lime pie. For business meetings and parties, Boise locals like the Hemingway Room that seats 35 and offers a variety of custom menus.
