Happy Fish Sushi & Martini Bar Description:
Located in the city's trendiest district, BoDo (Boise Downtown), Happy Fish is sandwiched in between the Ha' Penny Pub and Boise's premier weekly concert venue, The Knitting Factory. A shared patio makes dining outside comfortable on warm spring and summer nights. The menu presentation is simple and colorful, and the décor is fresh and light with a cool palette accenting blonde oak furniture. While the quality of sushi has risen over the years, what stands out is the martini list featuring 40 sexy concoctions. Imbibe enough of them and you'll forget you even came for food. Passable sushi standards include a range of nigiri, temaki, rolled sushi, specialty maki, and seaweed rolled sushi, along with donburi, a rice bowl dish. Desserts include mochi ice cream, Asian pear flambé, and lychee sherbet.

Review :
I am a long time Boise resident, and I have tried every sushi place in Boise and the surrounding area. Happy Fish Sushi and Martini Bar knocked the socks off of my dinner party! With an extensive and fun Martini Menu we started the evening with grins on our faces. After our appetizers, of seared scallops (served with an incredible wasabi aioli) and Age tofu my group of friends and I were ecstatic. Moving on to the sashimi and nigiri, which were made up of beautifully cut and arranged fresh fish, our group could not have been more satisfied. That is until we decided to share a couple of the Happy Fish signature Maki's or rolls. Wow, excellent textures, flavors, and presentation. My friends and I could not have been happier. The only problem our group encountered was the restaurant was to busy to get a table. Forced to sit at the Bar, our bartender/manager (Ace?) made us feel right at home and kept our entire group entertained! While the sushi chef (Andy?) kept us educated and our palates content! Happy Fish Sushi and Martini Bar gets an A++ in my Book! Try it!
