Madhuban Indian Cuisine Description:
Located in a strip mall far from the flash of downtown, and swathed in somewhat affected Indian décor, as well as haunted by an almost cafeteria-style seating arrangement, Madhuban Indian Cuisine is, hands down, the best Indian food in town. You'll be greeted by a friendly staff and the exotic sounds of Bollywood playing on two TVs, but ignore the surroundings and concentrate on the menu. To entice your appetite, every table starts with anise-flavored pappadum accompanied by sweet-onion chutney. Order the paneer pakora, spicy morsels of battered, deep-fried cottage cheese to launch your meal. There are too many first-rate dishes to mention here, but be sure to try the buttery chicken makhani, the sweet-coconut chicken madrasi, and spicy eggplant balgan bhartha. For dipping in chutney or pepper sauce, add an order of plain or garlic naan. After the main course is cleared, indulge in spoonfuls of kheer---Indian rice pudding---or lighten things up with a creamy mango lassi. It doesn't matter what you order, after dining at Madhuban you'll be that much closer to Nirvana.
