Owl Bar Description:
The fabled owls still sit high atop the brass-railed bar in one of Baltimore's most famous watering holes. Supposedly, if you see their eyes blinking, you've imbibed more than enough. Order that yard of beer, and it's likely you'll live the myth. The antidote lies in a menu that rounds up the usual casual-dining suspects (Buffalo drums, chicken quesadillas, brick-oven pizzas), but adds contemporary swank with such upscale offerings as pan-seared blackened ahi and chicken breast stuffed with blue-crab mousse and swathed in Dijon cream. But the real attraction here is the environs. The two-story space boasts courses of decorative German brickwork in what used to be the favorite gentleman's-only haunt of the legal community---and their bookmakers---throughout the early 1900s. If only these walls could talk.
