In true Chicago style, Morton's has an easy gait about it. Yes, you'll wear your jacket in, but nobody will blink an eye if you remove it and roll up your sleeves to tackle the wondrous platter of Midwestern corn-fed beef that'll come your way. You will have to sit through a dog-and-pony show, during which the waiter presents each and every cut in its natural, if plastic-wrapped, state, along with half a chicken pinioned to a plate and a gargantuan live lobster. But soon enough, dinner will arrive to gladden your heart. Bacon-wrapped scallops make a tasty starter, as does the Pacific smoked salmon. And if beef's not your thing, equally impressive lamb chops or jumbo lump crab cakes await. The wine list's a dilly. And yes, do order the dessert soufflé for two---the lemon is as sprightly as can be. If you want the Morton's experience without as much of a splurge, such temptations as petit filet mignon sandwiches and jumbo lump crab and artichoke dip are offered at the bar.
