Prime Meridian Description:
Generous fenestration, accomplished during an extensive renovation, enables dramatic views of the downtown skyline overlooking Centennial Olympic Park. The dining room is modern, and although large, exudes a romantic quality. Executive chef Geoff Southwick has accomplished many changes during his tenure, raising the quality in terms of both food and presentation. Seafood is especially well accomplished, with the scallops being a particular high point. Steaks rival those at specialty steakhouses. Make sure to consider dessert, as the choices are wide-ranging and tempting. Southwick is well traveled, and incorporates his global culinary experiences into the menu. Some dishes will feature a Southern touch, such as grits, but always presented in a fine dining manner. Lunch is still buffet, and themes vary according to the day of the week, and the restaurant also serves breakfast as a hotel service; dinner is the serious affair. The wine list has been upgraded, and annual special features focus on the food and wine of a particular country.
