Einstein's Description:
Ensconced in a pair of Craftsman-style bungalows, Einstein's boasts massive oak trees and an in-your-face view of Midtown. Suits, tattoos and green hair converge on one of the best patios in the city, joined often by grandparents and children from the surrounding upscale urban neighborhood. The bar occupies one of the two original bungalows, and is a most spacious environment, with lovely lighting and warm colors. The best dishes focus on simple fare, such as the rotisserie chicken. Fish dishes---and again the simpler the better---are well handled here. Vegetarians will feel warmly welcomed, with plenty of side items to choose from to compose a plate, and there's a perfectly sinful five-cheese mac 'n' cheese in which to indulge. If watching calories and other nutritional issues, a health menu offers grilled fish and meats and whole-wheat pasta. The wine list is serviceable, but staffers may hesitate when it comes to making recommendations. The breads alone justify a brunch visit, along with a Bloody Mary from the self-serve bar. A nice note: Brunch goes all the way to 4 p.m., one of the latest and most leisurely in the city.
