Rancher's Club of New Mexico Description:
Though it's getting crowded up there as Albuquerque enters a restaurant renaissance, there's still a little room at the top for The Rancher's Club, which has been serving aged Prime beef to those prepared to pony up the cash for many years. But rib-eyes and porterhouses aren't all the kitchen knows; pork, lamb, and elk chops grilled over oak and mesquite round out its repertoire, as do crab legs, lobster tail, and classic starters and sides such as shrimp cocktail, baked Brie, and creamed spinach. Of course, old-school touches abound beyond the menu as well, from deep banquette seating you can really sink into to professional service---each entrée arrives under a silver cloche for a dramatic flourish. All that said, the occasional sign of the twenty-first century won't be lost on novelty-seekers, who can turn to the likes of tuna tartare with watermelon relish and apple-pancetta agnolini in saffron broth for contemporary comfort.
