D P an American Brasserie Description:
The Purnomo family runs two of Albany's finest restaurants, Yono's and dp, An American Brasserie. Unlike the hushed, fine dining environs of Yono's, this adjacent restaurant is noisy, hip and one of the most popular places to hang out after work at the state capitol building. Start with a plate of freshly fried potato chips with blue cheese sauce or seared diver scallops with Sauternes sauce, then go on to a plate full of mini-burgers made from Kobe beef or Long Island duck with orange sauce. The full bar is the focal point of the room and its contents are notable as well: there are more than 40 vodkas, 15 single-malt scotches, and 20 brandies and Cognacs. There's also a 600-plus-bottle wine list.

Review :
The service at this restaurant is substandard. You will are likely to have a better meal and overall experience at any chain restaurant or at places like Justin's on Lark St. I went to this restaurant with friends. The waitress was slow, the food was bland, and to top it off we were asked to hurry up with our meal/dessert and leave! This is the most horrible dinning experience I have ever had in my life. As a person who has been to France to REAL brasseries I can say without a doubt that this place is a waste of time and money. Albany has many good fine dining options. This is not one of them. My husband was repeatedly bumped into by wait staff and as if the night couldn't get worse a waitress dropped a huge butter knife on my back. The owner was not sympathetic about our horrible experience. If you care about good quality food and service, you'll be wise to spend your money else where.
