Chestnut trees surround this stately old dwelling not far from the station. Like the décor, the food here is soothing but never banal. Close attention to cooking times raises the classic cuisine (scampi carpaccio, catfish steak tomato tian, sesame seed croquant, rhubarb and red pepper compote with lemon confit) a cut above the ordinary. Note the wealth of reasonably priced half-bottles on the wine list. Solicitous service; high prices.
