Al-Amir Description:
Al-Amir's menu features carefully prepared Lebanese favorites, such as rich, creamy hummus and falafel fried up crispy and golden. Entrées ranging from succulent scallop kebabs to fried eggplant are thoughtfully seasoned, while tender, juicy lamb dishes are sure to satisfy meat lovers. The traditional shwarma with chicken, rice and vegetables in a creamy garlic sauce is savory (if a touch on the dry side). Kebabs also come with fluffy rice and a side of sautéed, al dente zucchini. Finish with a selection of desserts such as kunafah, warbat or baklava, or if you prefer something that might be more familiar, there's cheesecake with raspberry and chocolate sauce. It's worth staying until about 9 p.m. when the belly dancing gets underway, and the atmosphere takes on an exotic Arabian Nights feel, complete with hookah-smoking spectators. The cocktail menu is sizeable, and Lebanese wine and beer selections are available to complement the regional flavors.
